After my Law studies I joined the ‘rate race’ in the corporate world, just like many others did. I was ambitious and my goal was to become the first woman on the Board. When I had almost made it I realised that it actually didn’t feel right. I was missing something
Fortunately it didn’t take long to find out what it was that I was missing. It was working intensively together with people. I was far too busy to have a meaningful relationship with the eighteen colleagues in my team and I didn’t like that one bit
Just at that moment a big, internal coaching programme needed a team coach and I didn’t hesitate for a minute and said YES immediately! That was the beginnings of a serious career change that, to this day, I have never regretted.
I just loved guiding people to work differently together, as a real team and not just seeing each other as good or bad performing colleagues. As a result of the team coaching individuals also wanted to be coached on their own. That seemed like a challenge and I was eager to start working with these people as a professional.
To support myself in the work I followed the Co-Active coach training including Certification and the Leadership programme run by The Coaches Training Institute. I finally became so hooked on coaching that a few years ago I became an international trainer for the Co-Active training programme that I do alongside my regular coaching.
In 2010 I started my own coaching company: Robin Coaching. It was one of the best steps I have ever taken in my life. To this day I love being a coach and it continues to give me endless satisfaction.
